The Sikeston Depot Museum

 Built as the Iron Mountain Railroad Train Depot in 1916, "The Depot" is now on the list of National Register of Historic Places.  It became a museum and cultural center in 2000.  Thousands of visitors have viewed dozens of permanent and rotating exhibits depicting the area's history and art, all at no charge

                                           WINTER 2012

Jan 7 - Feb. 25  The 37th Annual Regional High School Student Art Show.   Fifteen area high schools have brought 157 pieces of student art into the Depot.  The exhibit is one of our most anticipated shows with great variety and some surprising quality. The Show is free and open Tuesday through Saturday, 10-4 pm.


    Thursday, February 16th - Family Night at the Museum presents "Stargazing".  Activities include: How to use a telescope, Storytelling (Legends in the Sky and Zoo in the Sky), Star Tracking, Make your own Star Chart, Space Station Knowledge Hunt, An I-Pad Adventure, Make your own Straw Rocket, and more!  Every family will receive a NASA goodie bag.    As always, Family Night is free and open to all. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult.    The event will be held rain or shine. 


     Coming in March and April - The 1st Annual Sikeston Elementary School Art Show.
